Reviews for the Samsung Odyssey NP800G5M-X01US
Not an epic tale. The new Samsung Odyssey could have knocked information technology out of the park. Instead, it is your average entry-level system with no standout features to divide information technology from the growing gaming crowd except for its horrendously loud fan noise.
Samsung's first gaming laptop Odyssey is good but could be much better [Review]

All flaws considered, I did have a ton of fun with the Odyssey. It is a pretty proficient gaming laptop. Information technology just could accept been a scrap meliorate, but knowing Samsung they'll figure out what they did incorrect, correct information technology and then give us everything we need in the next version. Samsung is swell at making devices and so they know what they have to exercise hither. I look forward to seeing what's next.

The Samsung Notebook Odyssey performs too as other gaming notebooks in its form, simply it's overpriced, feels cheap and looks gaudy.

Model: he Samsung Odyssey gaming notebook is Samsung'south foray into the growing gaming notebook market. The commencement thing 1 will notice on the Odyssey is its oddly shaped trackpad just don't let its shape fool yous, while the ELAN controlled trackpad performs decently with no compromises, it isn't stellar compared to its competitors simply is quite solid for boilerplate use although nigh self-respecting gamers would usually have a dedicated mouse while gaming. The Odyssey comes with an IPS FHD panel, which at the very to the lowest degree provides a vibrant viewing feel. The backlight brightness of the display averages 250 nits, which is to a higher place average for a notebook of this form. Naturally what expert is an IPS display if it doesn't have the horses to drive it. Powering its display is the Nvidia GTX 1050. As this is a mainstream GPU virtually games from 2016 should exist able to run on medium to loftier settings on a FHD display, which this notebook is equipped with. Nonetheless, if you're a gamer who wants more eye processed sadly you should expect elsewhere. Although not all is doom and gloom, aslope its mainstream graphics card the Odyssey is powered past Intel's 7th generation Core i7-7700HQ, which past itself is quite standard on a notebook of this full-blooded. Moving to the Odyssey's chassis, Samsung has made its own original design which accentuates a slick matte surface with rounded edges. Unfortunately, its rigidity can't compete with its competitors such as MSI or Alienware but for an boilerplate user it should suffice.
The only disappointing matter about the Odyssey is its construction which feels cheap, then over again its Samsung's first attempt in the gaming notebook market. Overall the design and build is just above average. In terms of ports the Odyssey comes with standard USB 3.0, HDMI, Gigabit RJ45, and headphone ports. While Thunderbolt 3 is likewise much to inquire for on an entry level gaming notebook having a standard USB type C port would've been welcomed. For Wi-Fi, Samsung has opted for a Qualcomm Atheros wireless solution, which delivers a decent transfer rate. While there must exist some requite and take, for an entry level device the keyboard is quite solid in terms of tactile feedback, i thing to annotation for late night gamers is the keyboard is as well backlit with three levels of brightness. This helps with keyboard visibility. The highest setting can exist quite distracting, but this shouldn't be a problem with adjustment. The stereo speakers are not every bit loud as other similarly classed notebooks, merely have a slightly better balance minus bass. Every bit this is a gaming notebook users should non set high expectations when it comes to battery life, on average the Odyssey scores only above four hours while Wi-Fi surfing and just shy of 80 minutes on load. The Samsung Odyssey tin can be recommended if you are only someone looking for a decent gaming notebook.
